The competition for women
The 2021 Crossfit Games' women's competition started this morning with the swim race. Jonne Koski was the winner in the first race. Tia Clair Toomey Orr was also victorious. Koski was the overall winner after keeping her lead throughout the competition. Tall and Eramooo O’Connell came second and three respectively. It was the first Games for women, and the women's side hoped to complete the podium.
The women's competition is filled with top-level athletes. The field includes nine athletes, including a 19-year-old powerhouse who won the competition in Australia last year. Kara Saunders of Australia, who was second in Australia and eleventh in the world in 2020, are also contenders. Andrea Nisler, a rising star who competed for the team division in 2018, finished third in America and fifteenth overall in 2020. Aside from these athletes, the Women’s competition will also include a newcomer, Sara Sigmundsdottir, an Icelandan competitor, who won first place at the World Crossfit Games earlier.
Pegboard contest
Pegboard was an original feature at Crossfit Games 2021. It was added to the Games' summer Olympic program along with double-unders and dumbbell overhead squats. Toomey-Orr, who won 30 games events, holds the record of most wins in one Games event. Sager won Event 11 men's and received his third Games win. Although there were many ties, Toomey-Orr's dominance wasn't enough to prevent him from winning the contest.

CrossFit Games training involves focusing on ten basic physical fitness skills: endurance, strength flexibility power speed and agility. Pegboard competition tests competitors' grip strength, coordination, and speed. The athletes compete on a scale by holding two wooden pegs between their hands. The competition was intense, and the athletes left feeling satisfied after completing their Pegboard.
Cutting system
The CrossFit Games will once again employ a cutting system for the individual competition. While it's not as extreme or drastic as in previous Games, this year is very different. The competition consists of 15 individual events, so a first cut to 30 athletes is likely after the seventh or eighth event. CrossFit must also answer the question of how it will adjust the points following cuts. The scoring table used during the 2019 games was almost identical to that used in 2021. It is likely that this will continue.
The CrossFit Games' largest ever field, consisting of 236 athletes this year, is the largest ever. Major cuts are made in the first six events. The field is then reduced to 75 athletes. The top 30 competitors then compete in the sprint couplet to determine which athlete is number ten. The top 20 athletes then compete in six more events. Castro's system was strongly criticised by former Games participants, who felt that cuts were too substantial.
Reebok's equipment
Reebok recently announced new CrossFit Games equipment, including clothing and shoes. Nano X1 will be the new shoes. They are designed to suit multiple fitness requirements.
